New Bad *ss of the Fate Series

One of the few servants who can fight in par with Gilgamesh (Reading this gave me the creeps over this guy...)

Karna

Master: Jinako Karigiri | Voiced by Koji Yusa A cold and powerful warrior whose body has been fused with a suit of invincible armour. As the rules of the Holy Grail War have become corrupted, there is no reason for him to hide his identity as the invulnerable hero from the Indian epic Mahabharata. Karna is summoned as a Lancer, (although his Master later gives him the nickname of "Launcher" Class.) His Noble Phantasm is Vasavi Shakti: O Sun, Abide to Death, the spear that Indra (king of the Devas) granted to Karna after being shamed by the latter's unflinching generosity and self-sacrificial honour. As the mightiest weapon of Indra, Vasavi Shakti is a spear of light that can take down even gods, but can only be used by Karna once. Armor of Invincibility: His armor and earrings are so powerful that not even B.B can put a scratch on it. He chose to give it to Jinako however. Badass: One of the only Heroic Spirits that can hold a candle to Gilgamesh. Blade on a Stick: Vasavi Shakti, which is a BFSpear. Born Lucky: His Luck stat is A+! This is really ironic because Karna was really screwed over by the universe in his past life, and was originally conceptualized as a Lancer class (who traditionally have terrible Luck stats). Subverted. Karna requests that his luck be displayed at A+ since he feels that lucky getting Jinako as his master. Canon Immigrant: He was originally created for the light novel Spin-off Fate/Apocrypha, where he was a Lancer. Deadpan Snarker: All. The. Time. At one point he comments that if Jinako keeps stuffing her face so much with food, dropping her fromgreat heights will do more damage than his Noble Phantasm ever could. Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Due to their peculiar nature, Gilgamesh doesn't have his armor or javelin in the Gate of Babylon, so he asks Karna to give him either his armor, javelin or his head. Karna replies that since he´s given the armor to Jinako and has to use the javelin to fight him, he can have his rotten head if he wins. BAD. ASS. Drama-Preserving Handicap: He is called a Heroic Spirit that is as powerful as Gilgamesh (and his Lancer counterpart seems to live up to that claim), but he is weakened by his connection to Jinako, a subpar Master. While still a formidable boss, he's no longer as unbeatable as his Apocrypha counterpart is. Eye Beam: Brahmastra, a projectile Noble Phantasm that changes its shape depends on his class. Since he has no class in this game, Brahmastra manifests as a form of his signature Death Glare. Heroic Sacrifice: At the end of the game, he reveals that he had given his armour of invincibility to his Master without her knowledge earlier. This allows her to survive the "reset" of the system at the end of the Far Side scenario and safely exit the Moon Cell, which is why she does not show up in the Near Side scenario. No Flow in CGI: As the game engine would have a hard time rendering his flowing cape, the character designer changed it to a set of metal spikes with the same feel. Parental Substitute: To Jinako, though he prefers to be seen as the younger brother. The Stoic: He comes across as this because he believes that most things and events are "normal" and how they were meant to be, therefore there is no reason to be surprised. This trait even allowed him to accept his own death without a hint of resentment, even though he really had every right to be. Tragic Hero: The world really worked hard to screw him over throughout his entire life. Worthy Opponent: Though he isn't exactly disrespectful of his other opponents, he holds Gilgamesh in relatively high regard, and for once Gilgamesh seems to return the sentiment.
